Disco Time
When looking at my disco ball I understand the potential rhythm that reflects off each mirror. Rhythm does not only come from the beat of disco dance and music. In these photos, the sphere makes a great example of symmetry. Balance is created. However, with the different light forms coming through, it creates a unique disruption that causes beauty to arise. The symmetrical ball bounces light off itself. Each tightly stacked mirror creates repetition but mixes with change as different parts and colors reflect. The coolness and warmth of these images bring an overall balance that reaches stronger points. In these images, I believe that"balance and rhythm work together to create works of design that pulse with life" (110, Lupton and Phillips) shines through. The shadows and contrasting colors work with each other bringing vibrancy to a new level. Even though this ball of reflecting light fits in the palm of my hand, it is able to shine brightly in any room.
